For example, I understand the 14-30mm/f4 S and 24-70mm/f4 S are made in Thailand, and the F-mount 24-70mm/f2.8 E AF-S VR is made in Japan. However, the 35mm/f1.8 S is made in China. I am wondering whether the Chinese made lenses will be subjected to additional tariff when imported into the US in the future. My 24-70mm f/2.8 S is made in Japan
This 14-24mm is for people who really need f/2.8 rather than f/4, and are willing to pay for it. This new 14-24/2.8 is much smaller, lighter and takes filters compared to 2007's AF-S 14-24mm f/2.8, and it's at least as sharp. This new lens has no stabilization.
Nikon's first built-for-mirrorless pro zoom lens, the Nikkor Z 70-200mm F2.8 VR S ($2,599.95), is an important one. A quality telezoom is an almost required tool for event photography and reportage.

MTF Curves. Today we’re comparing the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 Mk II L, the Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 VC, and the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 AF-S lenses. As we’ve been doing, the MTF curves are the average of 10 copies at each lens, with each copy tested at 4 different rotations. Each lens is tested at both ends of the zoom range and in the center of the

Apr 18, 2020. #5. MNglass said: It is notable that Ricci found that the 50 S was the only prime that seemed to do better than the 24-70 2.8 S at apertures below around f4 or so. It speaks to how remarkably good the 24-70 2.8S is and how astonishingly good the 50 is. My impression is that once you get above f4 - f5.6 all these Z lenses shine.

Just for the record, both the Z Nikkor 24-70mm in f/4 and f/2.8 version are known to be stellar lenses. Unless your wife really need the f/2.8 aperture, I would suggest considering the f/4 Z Nikkor zoom. It's officially a "kit lens", but performance wise it's a pro class lens.

At 805 grams, the Nikon Z 24-70 mm f/2.8 S is also almost three ounces lighter than the SLR version. That’s an achievement. It’s thus almost one and a half times as heavy as the Nikon Z 24-70 mm f/4 S, but that is a full stop less bright. Nikon therefore clearly shows the advantages of a mirrorless system with this Nikon Z 24-70 mm f/2.8 S.

fragilityv2. • 2 yr. ago. I can’t speak for the 28-75 but I had the 24-70 f4 S for a while and it was a great all around lens. The image quality was fantastic but you will hit a barrier with the low light if you can’t extend the exposure time or boost the ISO. I eventually sold it and snagged the f 2.8 version. fR3TTy.

Elevated by a new Multi-Focus System, next generation lens flare correction and advanced S-Line features and functionality, the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S is a must-have lens that marks the sweet spot of performance, precision and optical superiority. Comparing this 70-200 at 70 km to the 24-70 mm f/2.8 at 70 km, well it isn’t even close. Sharpness is noticeably better. I have used it on a Z7 II with the 1.4 TC for larger shore birds and mammals. The detail is awesome. While it is a good portrait lens, I still prefer my 105mm f/1.4 adapted to my Z6. XZyCaHW.
